Prospective students must apply for Field Education courses through the mail. You may download the application form as a .pdf file (Adobe Acrobat). Click here to download the application packet (148K) (Arctic, Tropic). Print the file, fill it out, and mail it to:

You can reserve a space in the course via the web; click here to go to the online reservation form. Reserving space does not enroll you in the program, but does reserve an empty space until your application arrives in the mail.

Selection criteria: Selection is on a first come first serve basis for qualified applicants. There are no specific prerequisites but a qualified applicant has some background courses in the natural sciences, displays good writing skills, has enthusiasm for science, learning, and the outdoors, and is in good health.
